Ask what the insurance actually covers
Peer-to-peer rental means the vehicle belongs to a person, not a fleet. Cover is usually arranged through the platform rather than the owner's own policy, and the excess can be substantial. Read what happens to a claim for water damage or an awning, which are the two most common.
Mileage and generator hours are separate
Most listings include a mileage allowance and a separate allowance for generator hours. Running air conditioning overnight off the generator will go through those hours faster than people expect, and the overage is charged per hour.
Delivery is often better value than collection
Many owners will deliver to a site and set up. If you are staying in one place — which most people are — delivery removes the two hardest parts of the trip, which are driving something that size and levelling it on arrival.
Check the length against the site, not the listing
Campsites list a maximum length, and that figure usually has to include a towed vehicle. A 32-foot motorhome does not fit a 30-foot pad, and finding that out on arrival is a bad evening.
